PROFILE – DR. MRS. ELLEN M HAGAN

Dr. (Mrs.) Ellen Hagan is the Founder and Chief Executive of L’AINE HR, Ghana’s leading Human Resource organization, which she established 30 years ago. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management (CIHRM), currently serves as the President of the Human Resource Service Providers Association of Ghana (GHRASP) and recently appointed as the Vice President of the Bible Society of Ghana.

In addition to her HR accomplishments, Ellen Hagan is the Co-founder of Legacy Girls College; Ghana’s only all-girls private school with a curriculum blending Ghanaian and British educational systems. The establishment of Legacy Girls College forms part of her life-long dream to nurture young female leaders with critical thinking and analytical skills to make significant impact in the development of Ghana and Africa as a whole.

Dr. (Mrs.) Ellen Hagan is an alumnus of Akosombo International Secondary School, Wesley Girls High School, University of Ghana, Legon and the University of Leicester, UK and has also been conferred with a PhD. (Honoris Causa) in Humanities from the Pan African Bible Seminary.

Her leadership has earned her numerous accolades, including the 2011 CIMG Marketing Woman of the Year, the 2013 VLISCO Ghana Ambassador Award and the Ultimate Woman of the Year Award at the 2017 E.M.Y Africa Awards. In 2022, she was recognized as one of Africa’s most respected CEOs and received the Ghana CEO Summit Leadership Excellence Award for Consulting Services. Additionally, in 2023, she was recognized as one of the 100 Most Impactful Women Entrepreneurs with a vision for Africa’s future and received the Legacy & GADIA State Award for excellence in leadership, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment.

Dr. (Mrs.) Ellen Hagan is also a prolific author with four books to her credit, namely “Soft Skills; What Gives One Jobseeker an Edge Over Another”, “All about Job Interviews”, “Why are you Here?” and “A Voice of Leadership and Legacy”.

She serves on several boards, including the University of Ghana Business School Board, Samara Group Board, and the E.M.Y Group Board and the Christian Sentinel Board.

Dr. (Mrs.) Hagan’s dedication to her faith is reflected in her belief that Ephesians 2:10 encapsulates her life’s purpose. Married to Mr. Gilbert Nana Hagan for 39 years, she is a proud mother of four and grandmother of six.
